Cassettes are a thing of the past, CDs are on their way out, and digital/streaming has taken the music market by storm. Progressing technology with the times, right?

The fourth thing that belongs on this list might surprise you. Or maybe it should technically be the first. According to Rolling Stone and the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), vinyl records earned $224.1 million over the first six months of 2019 and sales are expected to continue to climb, surpassing CDs which are currently only outselling records by a relatively small $24.8 million margin. People in all generations, but especially Millennials and Gen-Zers, have found comfort in the old crackling sounds of their parents’ and grandparents’ cabinets full of old vinyl records.

Who can resist listening to Carole King’s “Tapestry”, The Rolling Stones, or any one of the Beatles Collection the way they were designed to be heard. We weren't there, but it sure feels like we were.

Many even own a brand new record player— Urban Outfitters started selling new record players with a nostalgic flair just a few short years ago, and the trend has caught on like wildfire. Now there are dozens, if not hundreds of models to choose from in every imaginable shape, size, and color you can think of. Some of the newer models even have modern bells and whistles such as USB output and Bluetooth speaker settings.

As any music aficionado will tell you, there’s just something raw and real about the virgin sound and live-feel grain of an vinyl record. “It’s a totally different listening experience to digital and one that we’re happy to have an option to switch to when we want the music to reach out and grab us a little more deeply.”

Do you get 7-9 hours of quality sleep a night? Consistently?

Some people need a little more, some a little less, but stop staying up until 2am* playing Candy Crush. Don't get us wrong. We love Candy Crush. Probably a little too much if we're being honest. Just play during the day.

The Science of Sleep

*Unless you have time to sleep until 10am-- then play all the Candy Crush you want!

Why Sleep Well?

1. Reduce stress and improve mood.

2. Maximize learning and memory.

3. Get sick less often and heal faster.

4. Weight control and healthy glucose metabolism.

5. Significantly lower your risk for serious health problems, like diabetes, heart disease, and cancer.

6. Better interpersonal relationships and sex life.

7. More energy. (Our favorite!)

Sleep Tight!
